here Perhaps the most visually stunning road to date! The trip from Christmas Creek (our last stop in the Yukon) to Valdez was fantastic! After a very short period of time, I determined that if there was a stop ( or pullover) along the side of the road, we were going to stop and see what was to be seen.
One stop revealed Worthington Glacier. The colors simply cannot be captured by the camera.
Along the side of the road we saw several waterfalls, this one is “Twin Horse Manes”. Memaw’s puppy decided she should pose for a shot.
The next waterfall was called the “Bridal Veil”.
The boys in the overhead looking at the road up ahead.
While in Valdez we got to celebrate a birthday! Sebastian turned 11 on the road and celebrated his birthday with a great carrot cake and ice cream.
The Salmon were running while we were in Valdez so we loaded up the Jeep and ran across the bay.
Christian killed them in the bay! The limit is 6 per person, and Christian the Fish Assassin caught his limit before noon. Sebastian did not fish that day, and Papa caught one.
The next morning all three of us headed for the bay. Most of the other folks there were not catching anything, but the boys from Florida each caught a salmon. When that big boy hit Sebastian’s line it was all he could do to hold on! His brother dove into the ice cold bay with a fish net and made sure we did’nt lose that fish.
There’s no such thing as a better birthday. I got this, a Smithsonian Volcano, a toy truck that can be painted and SMASHED!! Also, I got a bike computer. (No, I do not mean a pc that can be mounted on your bike. I wish it was.) WAIT!!! I almost forgot, I got a wrist song player and THE AMAZING SPIDER MAN GAME!!! When we went out to dinner, we went to this place right outside of our campsite called “The Alaskan Halibut House.”
That’s about all we did for my birthday, but thank you for reading!
Today i was fishing in Valdez for pink salmon. I had caught 6 of them. I hooked about 10 though. But that day papa had hooked about 4 and didn’t land a single one, so I felt bad for him so the next fish he had hooked I grabbed the net, ran into the water, and got the fish. It was very funny. But I am really waiting for when we get to go halibut fishing or when I get hooked into a king salmon. 😛 bye 🙂
